mikayla73 Posted September 23, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2005 DH and I are thinking of taking the Pearl Island excursion to swim with the stingrays. I just have a couple of questions .. 1. I read that the Yellowbird also goes to Pearl Island, is there a charge to snorkel, or just to rent the equipment? 2. Is there a pool also on the island? I thought I seen one in some pictures. 3. In island pics I also see a lighthouse, can you go in the lighthouse? How high is it? I bet the views are great if you can :D . 4. I am guessing there are restrooms and stuff on the island since they take people there for several hours, are there showers too? Thanks for your help! Yes, the Yellowbird goes to Pearl Island, and you can rent snorkel equipment and vest on the island. There is also a small pool and jacuzzi, but they don't always have water in them or are maintained. Depends on if there's been a private party out there lately (the island is owned by Eddie Murphy, and stars such as Christina Aquilara have been known to rent it for a private party.) There is also a very nice, colorful lighthouse that you are allowed to enter and go to the top (gift shop is inside). The views are wonderful. NO Charge. There are restrooms, outdoor showers and rustic changing rooms. All water services on the island are salt water, so the shower is mainly for getting sand off.
