Slots tournament?

Me and my daughter are Platinum but have never taken advantage of the casino perks. Can someone please explain what the slots tournament is, exactly?

Platinum members get a BOGO into the Blackjack or Slots tournament.

I would like to use this perk on our Oct cruise.

Thank you

You pay the entry fee (but can get 2 entries as platinum, buy one, get one free.)

You are given a business card sized glossy card (it's your entry ticket.)

Go sign up on the clipboard to indicate you are entering.

Once it's your round, you will sit in front of the machine that has been placed into tournament mode. You don't put your sail and sign card in it, and you don't put any cash in it either. You'll give your business card entry ticket to the emcee just before it begins.

The emcee will give everyone a countdown to begin... Everyone sits in front of their respective machines and hits the max bet key repeatedly. The machine is on a 5 minute timer.

The goal is to accumulate as many points as you can on the machine before the timer runs out. This is why you hear people smacking the keys like crazy. It's "luck of the spins" and the more/faster spins you can get into that 5 minutes, the better your chances of getting/hitting a high point spin.

Highest points remain on the leaderboard to compete in the final round for cash prizes.

Literally luck of the draw... the highest person on the leader board gets to pick the first machine in the final round and so on until all machines are full, then it's 5 minutes and you hope you picked/got the best machine for that round.

It was fun on the Breeze last year, but a lot of waiting. I signed up, then hung around until it was my turn to play. I was in the 2nd group to play so I watched the first group play. I placed 2nd so I had to come back later to play in the next round, then wait around again to play in that round. On my last cruise, I didn't participate because I didn't want to spend my daytime hours in the casino.
