Glammy Grammy Posted December 2, 2015 #27 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Just do it !!! I did my first solo cruise in May this year on QM, it was superb. Didn't know a soul when I got on but after a few days I'd met and got to know a lot of lovely people I'm still in contact with. I'm doing a solo cruise on QE in just over a weeks time and can't wait. My tips - go to the solo travellers meetings, especially the first one. Request a large table for dinner, go to lunch in the restaurant and ask to join a large table there, participate in the line dancing etc classes, be seen about the ship and don't hide away, sit with a coffee/drink and you can bet you'll get chatting to someone. Bar stool at the bar for pre dinner drinks - people tend to frequent the same bar for this so you see the same faces. Lastly - go and have a fantastic time. Oh2B@C Posted December 13, 2015 #28 Share Posted December 13, 2015 It can mean a couple of the things............ TA can mean Travel Agent and it can also mean Transatlantic Crossing. If someone says "I did a TA", I sure hope they mean Transatlantic crossing... Another great way to meet people is to take part in the team activities, like trivia and such. You find a group that looks like they would welcome an extra player and just ask them to join their team. You almost always get a very enthusiastic YES
Rare Honolulu Blue Posted December 13, 2015 #29 Share Posted December 13, 2015 If someone says "I did a TA", I sure hope they mean Transatlantic crossing... It depends on the TA. :) To the original poster, you've received some good advice. I hope you listened to them and are having a grand old time on your originally planned trip.
UAL_FlyGal Posted December 15, 2015 #30 Share Posted December 15, 2015 Thanks. Trans Atlantic makes the most sense in the context of the message although it is hard to imagine getting off half-way through a TA cruise.
