WAS2 Posted September 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2015 A question about the T3 Port Bus in Barcelona. *We cruise the NCL Epic in November. *While most of the boat is disembarking in Barcelona, a few of us embark out of Rome. *Since Barcelona *is just a typical port day for us, we want to get up and off the ship prior to the disembarkation madness. * The ship arrives in barcelon*at 5 am. *The question at hand is what time do the T3 Port Buses start? *The websites all say "based on cruise arrivals". *Pretty vague. *It's a disembarkation day for many so I imagine that they will start early to accommodate those travelers. * Needless to say, I was trying to avoid getting off the ship really early- with no way to get into Barcelona other than taxi or walking.*
MADflyer Posted September 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2015 It is true that the T3 port bus operates on a variable schedule. The port operates on a color code system and on a code red day with heavy traffic, each terminal may get a dedicated bus while on other more relaxed days the busses will simply circulate from terminal to terminal. T3 port busses only operate after each ship has been 'cleared' by customs. The handling of 'in-transit' vs. - 'disembarking' passengers is ship and arrival specific. The port bus will be available to both groups and while they will start very early, the frequency will increase during peak disembarkation and embarkation times. Frequencies can be as high as one every 5 minutes to as infrequent as one every half hour in the very early hours. You will be able to purchase a round trip port bus ticket for 3.50 euro. Walking is possible, but not recommended.
