What to do in Belize with a 14 month old

I think I already know the answer to my question, but I'm hoping you guys will be able to have an idea that I just haven't thought of. We are cruising with Carnival next week with my almost 14 month old son. The only excursion through Carnival in Belize that doesn't have a minimum age is the one that goes to Starfish Island. We're already doing a beach day in Cozumel and in Roatan, so we would like to do something different if possible. We aren't bringing a carseat, so I am not comfortable taking a taxi anywhere. Anyone have any ideas of something else we can do while we're in Belize? If not, we will probably just go to Starfish Island.

Which ship will you be on?

 

We will be sailing next week on the Valor with our 13 month old daughter and are trying to figure out what we're going to do in Belize as well. We're booked at Little French Key in Roatan and that will be our big beach day so may just wind up walking and shopping.

We will be on the Dream. My only worry with walking and shopping is that it sounds like the port itself isn't that great.
