pinkroses Posted September 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2015 We are considering one of these tours in November. I have a couple of questions that I cannot locate the answers. We will be staying at the Embassy Suites Resort and Casino. The BioBay looks like quite a distance. First, any recommendations for the tour? Second, does anyone know the taxi fare? Thanks! Aviator of the Seas Posted September 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2015 Are you at the Embassy Isla Verde (near the airport) or Embassy Dorado? If Dorado, plan at least a 1.5 hour drive in each direction. If Isla Verde, it's about an hour each way. Although I can't make any specific recommendations, most BioBay tour companies offer transportation to and from the launch site.

Aviator of the Seas Posted September 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2015 Yes. That's one of three BioBays we have on the islands. The other two are way farther than the one in Fajardo, near El Conquistador Resort.
pinkroses Posted September 15, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted September 15, 2015 Thank you! We are staying our first two nights at El Conquistador and the second two at Embassy Suites. Our friends who are meeting us at the Embassy Suites want to do the bio bay. Can you recommend one tour group?
Aviator of the Seas Posted September 15, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 15, 2015 No, I am sorry. I live in Puerto Rico and cannot make specific recommendations regarding tour companies. Probably your best bet is to get the official Puerto Rico government tourism guide, the Que Pasa magazine, and in there you will find a list of of all the authorized tour providers, and in the same magazine you will find ads for the different companies that offer the BioBay tour. Since swimming is not allowed in the bay anymore, it will probably be better to find a company that goes out in kayaks, as that gets you closer to the experience. Here's the online version of the tourism guide: http://www.caribbeanbusinesspr.com/magman/QuePasa/

pinkroses Posted September 27, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted September 27, 2015 What does anyone know about bioluminescent bay tours in a boat, not a kayak?
Ms411 Posted September 30, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) I used kayakingpuertorico.com both times I did the biobay tour, and always recommend them, vecause their guides are so experienced, funny, and helpful. I found out about another company that goes to the other biobay that's further away, and they go out in a boat after getting to the bay. Mypuertoricotours.com. Hope to go out with them during Thanksgiving. Let me check moon calendar to see if sky will be dark that weekend.
