hire taxi for an island tour

We would like to do things in our own pace, and are considering hire a taxi at the port for a half a day tour of the island. I found a recent fee chart saying that it is $80 for a group of 4. Anyone has experiences with it? Is $80 the price? How long do they allow you to stay at each spot? Is it easy to find one at the port?

When you get off the ship you will find many tour/taxi drivers offering tours of St Kitts. Some will have tours that will stop at every location where tourists may want to stop at. Only a few places have an fee to visit(Brimstone Hill & I believe that Caribelle Batik charges a very small fee). Some operators will take you to several places and then want to take you to the beaches on the SE Peninsula, they will either wait for you or come and get you for the return to the ship. Most will quote a price and you pay the tour cost plus a tip if deserved at the end of your excursion.

If we wish to look for a taxi once we get off the ship to tour the island, will there be taxis that can hold 10 people (all adults) plus a fold-up wheelchair?

Most of the tour/taxi operators use large vans. You should have no trouble finding a tour/taxi driver that can take care of you & your groups needs.
