dronfield Posted September 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2015 I am taking the October 2016 transpacific from Seattle to Sydney. Does anyone have any experience with the new cabins on Deck 12 Forward? Such as, since they are so high up on a big ship, is there much movement during heavy seas? Is there vibration issues? Does the captain tend to use stabilizers or not so much? I know these are new cabins put in during the recent refurbishment so perhaps there has not been much experience with them. Thank you. Jaimel134 Posted September 24, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2015 (edited) Hello I stayed in room 1824 deck 12 on explorer in June. The room was fantastic. It was first time for us cruising and being honest didn't hardly feel the boat moving. The view is incredible and the location is great. It was much quieter also, lifts quicker etc. Plus so easy to get to pool. You are directly below top sun bathing deck so no noise in the night. I would definitely go this room or deck again. cb at sea Posted September 24, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2015 Depends how rough it is! If it's calm seas...there's no big difference. If it's rough, the higher you are, the more you will feel movement. The good thing is you won't be IN your cabin most of the day...you'll be all over the ship! dronfield Posted September 26, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted September 26, 2015 Thank you both so much. I've been struggling to find info about these cabins since they are new with the recent refubishment so your information was very helpful.
