PNG Visa

We are booked on Pacific Eden 2016 PNG and Solomons. Do we need to get a visa for these destinations or are these arranged on board.

Thanks for your help.

Sue

I know visa restrictions for Australians got more strict from the 1st Jan 2015 . When you flew into PNG you used to be able to get them upon arrival FOC but now they had to be arranged prior to departure at a fee at the PNG consulate or embassy in Australia

I only know as I had to apply for one earlier this year for work.

Whether this has changed the rules for cruise ship passengers I don't know, however I would imagine it would. The cruise ship company should know as the rules are somewhat different for cruise ship passenger than when flying.

I would love to know because I am contemplating PNG for 2017 for a cruise.

Have fun on the cruise.

I just returned from a PNG cruise (albeit, on Princess & I am American).

Princess simply charged all passengers $6(AUD?) & we didn't have to surrender our passports for the visa. In fact, I chased-down the PNG immigration officer (onboard) to obtain a stamp (showing only entry to PNG - no exit!). My fellow Australians had the same experience.

Hope this helps. 😀
