Cabo Car Rental or Driver?

We want to drive around the Cabo area and up to Todos Santos when we are there. Can you give advice on good car rental places and how much the insurance costs? Or is it better to hire a driver? How much have you paid for a day's touring with a driver?

Bumping this up to the top to see if anyone has any info on this - especially a taxi up to Todos Santos and back for the day.

When we were in Cabo last year the taxis had become very expensive. What would be a $3 cab ride in PV or Mazatlan was $10 in Cabo. This was for a ten minute at most cab ride. Might be better off renting a car.
