RCI - Costa Maya Beach Snorkel

I am going on Splendor of the Seas in January 06. The excursion I'm considering in Costa Maya is the Costa Maya Beach Snorkel. Any opinions on this?

 

Specifically I'm wondering if

 

1) One of us just wants to hang out at the beach while the other one snorkels, is it a nice beach?

 

2) I know there are complimentary beverages included but is there food available to purchase?

 

Also, has anyone had experience with the "Jungle Beach Break"?

We will be in Costa Maya in April and also want to snorkle. Beach snorkeling seems to be easy to do on your own there, and boat snorkle trips can be arranged at the dock and also from vendors in Majahual right on the beach. Both locations have nice areas to beach it for non snorklers while the others are snorkeling either from shore or boat.. The beach in Majahual is just a few minutes from the dock by bus $3pp and taxi back to dock for $2pp.
