Melia day pass - Toys & Kids

Hi all,

 

We are thinking about going to Melia in November by using a day pass. I've read that people with day passes no longer get complimentary water sport toys such as paddle boards and kayaks. Can anyone confirm this? If so, do you remember how much they cost? Also, are there typically a lot of kids here or is it more geared towards adults. I'm afraid of my 10 year old not finding someone to play with. TIA

Thinking of doing Melia too but now I hear a hotel right next to it offers beach access as well as a lunch buffet for just a few dollars more. Ugh, decisions, decisions. Any details would be greatly appreciated.

There is no longer a hotel next to the Melia. It's closed to the public. Used for construction crew housing. No access thru this hotel. Casino is closed as well.

Is the Melia still a good choice for a day pass then? Has construction affected it?

Construction on Bahamar has been halted indefinitely. Melia is not affected
