Beverage Package cost

Looking at cruising in jan. Can anyone advise if you choose the Drink package what is the service charge and do you pay a certain amount of tips or on what you drink. Thanks in Advance. Bob

Yep... You pay based on the package cost as mentioned above so there is no additional charges once on board except sales tax when in a US port.

 

When we find a good bartender or server I usually tip them a $1 or 2 extra once in a while. We met a great server by the pool on one cruise so I tipped her extra. That night we went into one of the bars and she was working there and remembered us and we had great service! We even saw her and a couple of her friends in port one day and she called out to us by name!

It's an 18% Beverage and Service Charge some portion of which is supposed to be the gratuity for the bar staff. If you have the package you will pay this at the time you buy the package, or at final payment, however they do it. When you order individual drinks, you will present your sign and sail card and sign a tab, but it will all be zeroed out.

 

Many people tip cash or add it to the bill you sign, a $ per drink or round. Up to you. No additional required if you prefer.

Correct. It's state tax.

The only thing extra would be normal state tax in a us port.

The 18% is a service/gratuity charge. Nothing to do with taxes which might be charged in some ports.
