Luggage Storage in Rio

We will be disembarking from our cruise ship at 9:00AM and our plane does not leave until 10:00PM. Any suggestions as to where to store our luggage and important papers (passports, cash).

Was thinking about getting a hotel room for the day. Does anyone know of any hotels with a day rate.

Another thought was getting a hotel for that night, trying to check in early and if not, leaving our luggage at the hotel and putting our valuables in the hotel safe. If that is our only option, where would be a convenient area?

I suggest seeing your roll call for organized activities after your cruise. The tour would include storage of your luggage and visiting sites you are interested in. Also your cruise line may have arrangements for you. All flights from Rio to the USA leave at night.
