Divina Spa packages question

Hi all

We are considering booking a spa package on our upcoming cruise, but they aren't cheap and although I have directed some questions to MSC, they answers they provide aren't exactly certainties, and they seem to tell you to check with reception on-board alot. For me, that's not really acceptable. If I'm going to pre-book and part with the best part of £300, I would like to know what I am getting. So.....althoug this may seem like a silly question, I assume that if you book a package, you don't have to have all the treatments at one time? You can spread them out over a different days? MSC couldn't really answer me, so I'm hoping someone who has been might know. Thank you in advance :)

I nearly always buy a spa package in advance. Not checked this year's pricing but they have always worked out as a great saving over buying them individually onboard. I usually go for the Platinum Rose or Diamond Orchid.

As soon as I get onboard I just head up to the spa reception and hand over my voucher and book my appointments for when I want them throughout the cruise. They are all booked separately for different days and times. You can switch an appointment later if you want. I just find booking early gives me a better chance of getting the days and times that I want.

Thanks for the info. I assumed you must be able to split them up but the response I got from MSC was vague and not very helpful. Sadly, that is how I have found the service to be in general so far. I hope it is better on board. I've read mixed reviews. It's a bit worrying :(

Sorry.....another question from me! Is the spa open into the evening? What sort of times does it open? Many thanks

Any ideas on what a massage with shells is??

No and I thought I'd worked my way around the entire spa list!

Edit: just googled shell massage (part bored, part intrigued) and there are loads of articles on lava shell massage. Looks great. Will need to try it some time!

Fortunately onboard is better, a lot better or I would not cruise with them! Onshore are usually vague when you ask specific questions.

(answering SPA questions)

I have found that this is usually the case, as the SPA is usually operated by an independent contractor ... not the cruise line. I am not sure if this is the case with MSC.

IT is an onboard franchise. However it is not just questions about the spa that onshore are vague about, it can pretty much be anything!

I also found their website to be VERY lacking and also the way the salespeople handle questions. It was terrible how they weren't even informed about basic things. I do not want to book unless my questions are answered. Not too much to ask is it?
