Free steakhouse selection on Sensation?

Spent the weekend on Sensation. We received a "Lucky You!" Coupon for free steakhouse selection entrees for 2 in the MDR. Of course we used them.

 

I'm sure this is a way to get people to try those items in hopes they will order for the fee later. I'm curious how they determine who gets these coupons. Is it completely random, or frequent cruisers knowing they will cruise again and potentially purchase?

I received one of the "Lucky You" cards in my cabin on the Miracle, mine was a gift from the casino. It was for two steakhouse selections and a bottle of wine in the MDR.

The coupon was in our cabin. We never go to the casino, so that wasn't it.

 

The main waiter in the MDR knew about it before we did. He asked about it on evening #1, but we didn't get it until day #2.

 

I don't know if we understood correctly, but we think the waiter said it was something new they were doing.
