We did this walk with our luggage in tow and although it was longer then I thought it would be, it was very easy. You could have a issue on bad weather days. I would do it again because of the ease of getting into the city.

i have done this twice. Once for the breakaway and once for the carnival splendor. It may be 10 blocks but they are not long blocks. We did it in the snow and still had no trouble. you can also take a cab from the ferry. Port Imperial has long term parking. It was 14 per day last fall. Not sure if the rates have increased. I would recommend this option,
