We don't plan on using the MDR on our next cruise. Should we notify MD. We are assigned to early dining.
You aren't required to do it, but it would be very thoughtful of you to do so. There might be someone waitlisted for early dining. This would open up a spot for them. Kudos to you for being conscientious enough to ask the question. :)

It would be very thoughtful to inform the staff (and have your PVP or travel agent change it in your booking) that you won't be eating at your fixed dining assignment.

In the past we've seen tablemates of folks who've decided not to use the MDR looking lonely and a bit uncomfortable seated at a large table where nobody else showed up.

There are many folks who enjoy the company of other diners at dinner and could have been moved to a table where there are other folks if the no-shows has at least informed the MDR staff that they would not be dining in their reservation.

Very thoughtful of you to notify the Maitre'd. If you go through your PVP or TA, all they can do is change you to YTD, if it's available. I doubt if they'll contact the Maitre'd to inform him/her that you're eating on Lido every night.

If you aren't going to use the MDR, I would change your fixed dining to late. Late dining is by far the least popular option. Early fixed is the most popular, then YTD is usually the second to wait list because those that can't get early fixed ask for YTD so they can go to the dining room early. Change your dining time to late fixed and you won't be keeping someone from a spot since late fixed is usually the last to waitlist.
