We have a cruise booked for next year a TA and need a one way flight,

Via the (Royal this tiem) UK site i get the new cloice air option ( air2..)

it will quote me flights but won't let me book as it comes up in US$ or CAN$

has anyone managed to do this? from teh UK

When i try to book it quotes me around $500 for a one way BA flight approx £300

when i phone RCL ( and i assume celebrity) UK line they quote me £650 for the same flight

or more than double

I'd never thought of trying the royal US site, as i assume UK customers would be blocked.

does anyone have the link to get it to work as it always defaults to the UK site for RCL and celebrity

A lot of times, the airlines themselves enforce booking restrictions based on one's home country and require booking thru appropriate channels. I know United does.

I keep seeing those annoying posts from people gloating that they have saved money. Hate em!

I seem to be in no-mans land here but before final payment I will be on that phone to see if I need to pay less:D

Will try France first then the UK or, perhaps, the US.

This is why I am going for last minute bookings. The goalposts keep moving and it is, quite frankly, not fair on the early bookers. Also complicated for people like me who start off well investigating then lose heart.

to both morbihan and bogofman

try the price watch website I mentioned (sort of)

find the cruise and it lists prices in at least USD but often in CAD, Euro and GBP

even if it only shows prices in USD, there is a link at tope for Eur, GBP etc

click on that link and it will take you to the royal caribbean website for that currency (I believe my last cruise booked in Euros was done through their official site in the Netherlands)
