Presbycruiser Posted November 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Is it possible to set up an on board account using a debit card as opposed to a credit card? I have a MasterCard one.

Mistizoom Posted November 14, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2015 You can buy realize they will place holds on your account and some of your funds may be tied up until after the cruise is over.
Demonyte Posted November 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2015 You can buy realize they will place holds on your account and some of your funds may be tied up until after the cruise is over. Not just "may be tied" but most likely will be for quite a while, depending on the bank. The cruise line will make holds that take time to be released. Presbycruiser Posted November 14, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Cash sounds like an easier way to go if I want to avoid using a credit card.
cb at sea Posted November 14, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2015 Better to use cash....same as the debit, but no "holds" will be put on cash! The holds on a debit card can affect your account well after the cruise is over....or even in your ports.... Just withdraw the cash from your account, and use that. Cash is KING!
