Rare dsain Posted November 24, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2015 Will the porters at the port take my carseat (it's in a bag) to deliver to my cabin or will I have to haul it around until cabins open?
Kerry's Girls Posted November 24, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2015 They will take pretty much anything you slap a luggage tag on. I've checked two car seats, two bouncie chairs, a plastic storage tub (duct taped closed), boxes of diapers, a collapsed stroller, etc. Same in the reverse - the last night I put it all out in front of the stateroom and collect it with the luggage. lastminutemama Posted November 25, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2015 We love this to solve this problem. I'm not a fan of letting the seat be transported in a cargo sense and this is also amazing in waiting areas and long lines and long walks.
sailinglisa Posted November 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2015 The land side porters only load the luggage/stuff onto the cages that load the stuff onto the ship. Once on the ship, the ship's staff deliver it to the stateroom. I always tip the land side porter about $2 per bag - all my checked bags have showed up within an hour of boarding. These are the guys that make sure my luggage is on one of the earlier cages that is boarded onto the ship so the ship's personnel can off load them earlier. Rare dsain Posted December 6, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted December 6, 2015 I have a car seat check bag similar to the one posted above. We got home yesterday and had no problems leaving it with the porters to be delivered to the ship.
bobbie0253 Posted January 24, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2016 We sent ours with the porter. We went and bought a $40 Cosco Scenera and a car seat carry bag ( jeep brand from target) because I didn't want to risk our good seat getting damaged. That and the Scenera is light and easy to install quickly.
