smoothy b. Posted November 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2015 My wife and I take our first cruise in February. The wife has just asked me if I think there will be any talks / presentations offered on board, regarding the ports of call, or any other interesting topics, particularly during the sea days on board.. As I have no idea what the answer is, can anyone advise please ?
Dodgydavid Posted November 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2015 There is usually a port showcase on the day at sea. When you get info on the ports and what shore excursions are available
Pensioncruiser Posted November 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2015 Welcome and how exciting, your first cruise. Normally on your first day, which will be at sea, you have a 'port presentation' which goes through all of your port's in the first week this will tie in with he paperwork you receive on arrival giving all the excursions and costs, you can check these out now on the Thomson web site and book, we always wait until on board but a lot of passengers like to book prior to travel. Just ask if you have any other questions, we also go in Feb which will be our seventh time to the Caribbean😀
WeeCountyMan Posted November 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2015 Based on recent experience there are usually guest lecturers on Thomsons cruises for sea days. Of course, the topic themes may not be to your taste.
geomagot Posted December 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2015 afaik they have a guest speaker only on the transatlantics and an onboard vicar at christmas (for the midnight service) they also do chocolate making/singing lessons/painting on the ta's which must be booked and paid for in advance afaik? other than that the only enrichment(s) are the usual daytime napkin folding/cooking demonstrations etc (you have to pay for the wine tasting sessions) there is a fun (no risk.... learn how to play) casino session once a week on the sea day (£5pp)
