Prepaid Visa Card to pay [in advance] for shore excursions

I was wondering if anyone has used a prepaid Visa card to purchase Princess Shore excursions? I can't book excursions yet for my October 2016 but have a substantial amount on a prepaid card to spend.

I've used prepaid Visa cards to purchase onboard credits, I'm not sure why you couldn't also use them to purchase shore excursions. I f nothing else you could purchase the onboard credits with the prepaid Visa and have the excursions deducted from your shipboard account.
