We have a late flight from Newark after our Anthem cruise and are considering taking a Royal Caribbean Shore Excursion with drop off at the Airport. Anyone done this?

If so how was the luggage handled? Do you have to take it through customs and then to meet a bus?

Unfortunately Luggage Valet our first choice is not offered on this cruise.

Haven't done the shore excursion, so I can't advise on that.

 

For disembarkation you walk off the ship and collect your luggage in the terminal area. You then get in line for customs and immigration. You then roll your luggage outside and cross the drop off line to a central median area where all the buses are parked. Your excursion bus should be there. When you embark, take a close look at the setup so you know what to expect when you disembark.

 

Hiring a porter could be a good option if you have lots of stuff. He (or she) can usually get you through the customs and immigration line more quickly and should be willing to take you directly to the bus for an appropriate tip of course.
