Who Cares? Posted January 11, 2016 #101 Share Posted January 11, 2016 I am wondering about tipping. We are going to be eating free in the steakhouse since we will be Diamond and that is one of the "perks." IDK if a tip is given to the waitpersons by the ship or we should tip the regular 15%??? Would most likely tip a bit extra anyway, but I don't want it to be below what they would get for a "regular paying customer." As I see it, the cost to go to the steakhouse includes gratuities. So if, as a Diamond, you get a free steakhouse dinner (i.e. Carnival is covering the cost of the dinner), the "freebie" also covers the cost of the gratuities (since they are not separate). Trumpster Posted January 11, 2016 #102 Share Posted January 11, 2016 We have always enjoyed the steakhouse. Feel like Tapi, has been better than many other specialty restaurants on other ships. Didn't do it last time but did the Chef's table and that was really nice. Probably won't do it again, until the menu changes again. Wonderful dining experience. linga Posted February 10, 2016 #104 Share Posted February 10, 2016 Have always had wonderful meals at the steakhouse on several different Carnival ships! Great steaks and great service! Have made reservations for the 1st night on our next cruise. :)
