We sailing to Freeport/Nassau Spring Break 2016 and beginning to consider excursions. When I go to my cruise manager there are only 6 excusions listed for both ports. Is it simply too early to book or is everthing potentially sold out an that is all is left?

Thanks for any advice.

There is very little to do in Freeport, the times we have stopped in Freeport we spent the majority of the time on the ship. There are shopping excursions but you can take a Taxi to the shopping areas. Of course, they sell pretty much the same things that all the other shops sell. There is always the usual excursions that are at most stops, but nothing really exciting. We usually spend the day on the ship and save our money for more exciting ports.

You really don't need ship based excursions in either port. The other poster is correct and there isn't much to do in Freeport. It is easy enough to get off and take a cab to where the resorts are. There is a marked and a decent beach. If the weather is good it is nice to hang out there.

As for Nassau, what do you want to do? I suggest looking at the Ports of Call board. If you search for People to People you may find a unique cultural activity. You will also find directions to some beaches, as well as a section that has a lot of local restaurants and good food. The straw market can keep you busy for a while if you like shopping, and if you like animals, the small zoo is quite fun and interactive as you can feed lorikeets and watch the flamingo parade. Paradise Island/Atlantis area is much nicer than the area around the port.

Thanks for the info everyone. We may stick with the free beach/market in Freeport. Is it easy to find from where the taxi's dropoff (in front of the casino from what I've read)?

We were interested in the segway tour in Nassau that takes you along the waterfront. It's not showing as an excursion option and you can't book direct from their website.

I'm guessing it is too early for them to show up. I had the same issue for my current cruise, and the excursions dept. said that they often don't have the full list available until 3 months prior to sailing.

In Freeport, we did the Kayak trip through Carnival and it was GREAT, and we are doing it again next month. After the guided kayak trip through the river, there was a short nature walk, and then some time on the beach, with a provided picnic style lunch.

Yes. Very easy to find. And why can't you book direct from website? I bet there are a bunch of places that do segways listed on ports of call and it will cost you less than booking through the cruise!
