pookeysmom Posted January 11, 2016 #26 Share Posted January 11, 2016 At our meet and greet we were told the pearly kings was going to be changed to a Wine Bar and that Moderno (and maybe Blue Lagoon) was going to be changed to a Pub. Moderno is moving to the Star Bar. We are booked on the last cruise before the refurbishment, May 8 for a 10 night cruise. It will probably be held together with bandaids by then. Alain said that once the passengers leave the ship on May 18 they will be getting rid of all the mattresses, curtains, not sure if he mentioned rugs and just dumping everything. I am booking that cruise tonight. 10 nights will be great & it's got 6 stops. Looking forward to it! We usually cruise out of Houston, so NOLA will be a change for us. Rare albingirl Posted January 11, 2016 #27 Share Posted January 11, 2016 Really nice review; thanks. I love the part about the smoker....we really dislike the fact that people feel so entitled to break the rules. We won't sail Holland America again because of the smoking on balconies. MSgirl cruiser Posted February 7, 2016 #28 Share Posted February 7, 2016 Thanks for posting. Congratulations at winning in the casino. My biggest win to date was on the old Norwegian Majesty. I won $675 the last day. Casino bar was the worst. Not only did so many people have the UBP, but add on the free drink card that the CAS people have made for long waits. My husband is a smoker and I booked a family suite without a balcony so he wouldn't be tempted to smoke on the balcony. I visited guest services a couple of times to have my room charges printed out too. I hate surprises at the end of the cruise. We sail in 30 days and could you please tell me where smoking is allowed. My husband smokes and we have not been on NCL since policy changes... Thank you

My husband smokes and we have not been on NCL since policy changes... Thank youI'm not a smoker, but here is an answer from another thread, with regard to smoking on the Dawn: Pool deck port side, casino, cigar bar and deck 7 both sides. We got a balcony and rarely used it due to no smoking now. We used to be out there all the time. Will get an inside deck 12 next time and save a lot of money. Also deck 14 (Bimini bar) port side. Had lots of places to go and got a lot of exercise doing it. Post 107: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=48664754&highlight=dawn#post48664754 Hope this helps! But since the change we "insiders" now. We book on Lido now cause it's easier for him and this grandma has hip problems!!! Thank you so much... FYI Carnival Sunshine is the most anti smoking ship we have been on.
