Cash out option

I knew I probably need more cash than I expected at my first time cruise. But, I don't like bring a lot of cash.

Is there any options that I can cash-out at a ship? I was told that I can do it at Casino? What about a Sea Pass card? Is this a card I have to put a deposit first and use it up to the money I put? Or, can it be linked a registered credit card and bill it as credit card charge? Please advise me. Thanks.

The Sea Pass card can be linked up to your credit card. That is it's main use. You can also use cash.

You can get cash using your Seapass account, which will show up as a regular 'purchase' (not a cash advance) on your credit card statement, along with all your other onboard charges. Just make sure you have enough credit on your card or they'll have you walk the plank! ;-)

If you have put cash down you can go to the Front Desk and get some. Sometimes at the Casino they charge you for it, about 3%.

Only if I put my cash down in advance, I can get it at the Front Desk? So, do I have to put some cash down into my Sea Pass account (before saling?). Otherwise, do I have to pay 3% for cash out at Casino? There is no third-way (no advance down, no surcharge)?

I have never been charged a surcharge for obtaining cash against my Seapass account (credit card was used for the Seapass, not cash). I sailed as recently as last month, and there was no surcharge. If you use the ATM, there is a charge (which I think is more than 3%).

You can get cash at the casino cage, without a charge, either way you have your seapass set up (by credit card or cash account).

We had a cash account for our seapass, but needed some cash one day and simply went to the casino and got what we needed.

The main thing is to be sure you have enought credit on your card, or cash in the account to cover your cash withdraw at the casino.

To my knowledge, only the ATM has surcharges.

We've got cash at the casino cage several times and never been charged any type of fee. They even charge it as a "purchase" on your credit card so you don't have cash advance fees or interest starting immediately with your credit card company. If you use a mileage card, you get miles too! ;)

We did not bring a lot of cash either, but the only trouble we ran into was that most of the times when we thought to get more cash (running off the ship to an excursion, for example) the casino was closed.

When the casino is closed, the only option is the ATM, which last week charged a $5.50 surcharge per transaction.

If you're on a ship where you have lots of port days, when the casino is closed, I would recommend thinking about your cash needs the night before and getting the cash from the casino cage while they're open at night.

The guest relations desk will not give you any money on your SeaPass account if you're using a credit card to pay. I believe the only thing they can do is cash traveler's checks.
