pappagene Posted January 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2016 We will be arriving in Vancouver on May 16, 2016 on a Carnival cruise from Hawaii and will be transferring to NCL for an Alaska cruise the same day. Are the cruise terminals close to each other and can we walk from one to another? If we cannot walk, what will be the best way to get from one terminal to the other? Thanks in advance Gene

Thanks in advance Gene They both dock at Canada Place . You'll walk off one and then re enter the building for NCL cruise . Get the latest dis embarkation group on the Carnival cruise . Porters don't take luggage for the cruises that leave that day until about 10AM. You'll be directed to the second floor to check in when they open. Then you come down to the first floor pass thru security and clear US customs. Then you'll be directed to a holding area for your cruise on the first floor. xlxo Posted January 6, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 6, 2016 There is only one terminal. Once you grab your luggage, you are likely asked to walk out to the lobby. Once in the lobby you should look where to check your bags to for your second journey. Once you dropped off your bags, then look for check-in. With more than one cruise ship in the terminal, the procedures is likely different than when I was there for a single ship.
pappagene Posted January 6, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted January 6, 2016 This sounds super. Sounds like it is not like most ports where the terminals are all over the place. Thanks for this info. We may look for something to do for a couple of hours between cruises. Gene
xlxo Posted January 6, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2016 Thoughts... don't be surprised those 2 hours will be consumed by security searches. Those US customs really want to earn their pay... especially if there is more than one boat docked. Fly Over Canada is an attraction attached to the North tip of the terminal. Might be worth a pit stop once you drop your luggage. Bella's Gelato is award winning. Check out Mink's if you like chocolates.
BCHappyGal Posted January 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2016 Don't waste your day - Enjoy Vancouver... Disembarkation is a breeze as Canadian customs generally just lets you walk thru - you just hand the officer your customs form... Check in your luggage just past the customs point - go outside the front door and you will find the long shoreman taking the luggage where the taxi's drop off... Then re enter and follow the overhead signs to "City Centre" these will lead you out to street level - turn right and walk past the Starbucks and the entrance to the Pan Pacific Hotel and the Convention Centre... YOu will see a kiosk selling the tickets to "Fly Over Canada" the actual attraction is at the bottom end of the cruise ship pier and you will walk past either the ship you just got off or the one you will be getting on as you stroll down the pier... Following Fly Over Canada you can walk to GAsTown - where Vancouver originated ! about 4 blocks - (Just inside the doors to the Convention Center is a tourist booth where you can get a map...) You will find a lot of restaurants in GAs Town for lunch Or you could go up Harbor Center and eat in the revolving restaurant with a fabulous view of Vancouver If you are an Olympics fan the 2010 Winter Olympics torch is in Jack Poole Square only 2 blocks over and Bella's Gelato is in the middle Return to check in about 2:30 or 3 and you should have missed the crowd .... (time will depend on your ships sailing time)
