Need some ideas about where to travel and visit in the future? Seeking some locations that are different and distant? You might check out this New York Times Travel Section that was delivered this morning. They have this headline: "52 Places to Go in 2016" with this sub-headline summary: "It’s a big world out there, so we’ve narrowed it down for you. From ancient temples to crystalline waters, here are our top destinations to visit this year."

In their top top list, they have several Europe and other locations that we have not, yet, visited. Many are now on our "to-do" listing.

13th on their best list is Aarhus with this sub-head: "Thriving Danish culture beyond well-trodden Copenhagen.". This Times story has a few of these brief story highlights: "Denmark’s second city is often eclipsed by Copenhagen. But this big city with a college-town vibe has a thriving art, culture and food scene that is set to expand through 2016. New development along its industrial coastline — including Dokk1, a cultural center and the largest public library in Scandinavia — as well as a light rail expected to open by late summer, is transforming Aarhus into a more accessible cultural capital. Other highlights are ARoS, the gallery known for its 'Your Rainbow Panorama' floor with a kaleidoscopic view of the city; the Moesgaard Museum, dedicated to cultural history; a concert hall, home to the Danish National Opera and three Michelin-starred restaurants. Gastromé, a short walk from Aarhus’s old city center and canal, highlights new Nordic cuisine sourced from the Vilhelmsborg Forest and surrounding countryside."

Aarhus sounds interesting for the next time we return to Denmark. Others have ideas, tips, secrets, suggestions, etc., from your visiting to Aarhus? Don't be shy!! Share more!

From the London/UK Daily Mail travel section yesterday, they have this overall headline: "ten hottest travel spots for 2017 " with this highlight subhead: "Explore the sleek style of Denmark".

Here are some of the highlights cited: "Why have one celebration when you can have two? This year sees the Danish city of Aarhus become the European Capital of Culture and the European Region of Gastronomy. It is also easy to explore, has a beautiful setting on the Jutland Peninsula and has won a slew of architecture awards for its modern design. When to go: June and September are pleasant. Expect 22c in July and August."

From our Jan. 25-Feb. 20, 2015, Amazon River-Caribbean combo sailing over 26 days that started in Barbados, here is the link below to that live/blog. Lots of great visuals from this amazing Brazil river and these various Caribbean Islands (Dutch ABC's, St. Barts, Dominica, Grenada, etc.) that we experienced. Check it out at:
