bschmitt Posted January 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2016 Has anyone ever booked through "Shore Excursioneer" for their shore excursions. Been looking at their web site. Some tours appear to be exactly what the ship is offering but at half the cost? Have 6 of this time and thinking of trying this but don't want to make a big mistake. carontori Posted January 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2016 If you go to the ports of call section and do a search you can see what other people are saying about them. I have found some good reviews.
kelly11 Posted January 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2016 Yes we have a few times, booked our beach days at Mr Sanchos in Cozumel through them, we paid their deposit ( I think it was $5 per person), they sent an email confirmation with the amount still owing which we had to take to the resort, we handed them the printed out confirmation, paid the balance and there were no issues. One of the times we had to change our arrival day to a day earlier due to a medical emergency on the ship, we emailed them from the ship and they made the changes and notified Mr Sanchos and there were no problems at all. bschmitt Posted January 12, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted January 12, 2016 Thank you both for your feedback. Thinking of doing the Sea Trek with the grandsons ages 15 and 11 (soon to be 12). Want them to have a good time that's why I am so concerned. Would hate to mess things up and ruin a cruise for them.

In a lot of cases, the same companies run the various shore excursions for the ships and independently for other customers. And yes, you can often book the exact same excursion for much less by booking independently. As has been suggested, you should research a company on the ports of call boards here, and also google them and see what you come up with. Other travel web sites may provide reviews as well. Just be aware that if you book independently, it's on you to make sure you're back at the ship in time. That's not usually an issue, but it's worth double checking with the company. In general, though, most major excursion companies depend on the cruise line business, and they will not risk having you (and the other passengers) late to the ship. DreamingBig1 Posted January 13, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2016 I am currently writing a review about our trip on the Star in early December. We used Shore Excursioneer for our excursion in Belize, and had a fabulous time. I am posting updates, and the last post I finished was about Belize. Use them! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2289672
