NCL vs CCL

I have been on two cruises, both on Carnival and getting ready for my third. I saw some advertisements for some package deals on NCL and was thinking about booking either the Epic or the Gem. Could you please offer some experiences on either? And the differences between the two lines? I am not a big "partyer" but I do like entertainment and love cruising for the foodand ports of call. Thanks!

Love, love the Gem! My friend and I are booked on our 4th cruise on the Gem. I love the entertainment. Now my same friend was on the Epic this fall and wasn't as thrilled. The Gem is easy to navigate and has a very friendly crew. I am a chef and I have no complaints about the food. We were in a suite last time which allowed us breakfast and lunch in Cagneys

Wonderful and quiet.

The Breakaway is supposed to be fun also.
