Kuzamil Snorkeling Center

Has anyone gone snorkeling from Kuzamil Snorkeling Center in Cozumel? It is recommended in Frommers Looking for some information about this.

Unfortunately they are no longer around. They had these really cool glass bottom boats with a grass hut on top, the Palapa Marinas, and also 2 other larger boats. After many years on the piers of downtown, el Güero Muñoz sold his boats & permits, and closed up shop.

 

Fortunately there are many good snorkeling options around, some better than others as far as reef snorkeling/dollar, quality and comfort of boat, and also quality of staff. You'll find that there's many sites that list snorkeling tours, and every other tour sold, these are usually tour brokers, not tour operators, and often are not even located in Cozumel. Do your research and find local tour operators that actually own the tour/boat you are purchasing, after checking them out of course, plenty of reviews out there. A good example is a business that is recommended on this board often, Eagle Ray, hands-on, owner operated, in Cozumel, and they get great reviews.

 

Run a web search on any of the engines, and you'll come up with lots of options, check in to them and make sure you enjoy Cozumel!

Actually it is the 2006 Frommer's book. Guess they didn't take them out.

 

I'm looking for a small snorkeling trip. Don't want to go on the crowded ones offered by the cruise line. Those are too crowded and not much fun.

They aren't very good a keeping the Cozumel section up to date.
