Rental Cars on St. Martin

We will be going to St. Martin in April on the Freedom of the Seas and would like to rent a jeep to get my family of 5 around the island. Any recent recommendations for a rental company?

 

Also, there will be 4 other ships in port with us? Will the island be too busy to drive around ourselves and not through a tour? Thanks!

Hi, when we were in St Maarten in December we rented a 10-passenger van thru Hertz. We booked online in advance, you can go to their website and see what they have to offer, to see if they have a jeep. They took great care of us and we had no issues

 

When we were there, the traffic was not bad up the east coast (Orient Beach) and along the north side (Grand Case) but when you get in the Marigot and Maho Beach/airport area (west side of the island) it can be very congested so you need to plan your time accordingly.

With 5 cruise ships in port at the same time, traffic anywhere in Phillipsburg and Maho and Orient beaches is going to be bad.

It is an easy island to drive around, and for a family of five, would also be cost effective. Definitely book ahead for availability.
