jarand Posted January 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2016 We are considering taking four grandkids on a fun cruise, ages 4, 7, 8, and 10. The Inspiration and Imagination are inexpensive and convenient for us, but I read a lot about them being not the best place for kids. So we're looking at the Sunshine. Does anyone know if there are minimum age and/or heights for the fun things to do, such as the water slide and ropes course? Any suggestions would be appreciated! KatieCharlotte Posted January 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2016 We are considering taking four grandkids on a fun cruise, ages 4, 7, 8, and 10. The ropes course has a minimum height of 48 inches. We found that the ropes course on the Sunshine was a bit challenging for kids close to that height, but staff or parents can help them reach the ropes. The waterslides generally have a height requirement of 42 inches. Some of the ships still have slides that go directly into the pool, and those slides have a 48-inch requirement. The Sunshine has tall slides for 42+ inches and also has small slides for all ages. Smaller ships like the Inspiration and Imagination do not have as many outdoor family activities. My kids rank the Sunshine as their favorite and the Magic second. They enjoy the Sports Square and Waterworks, and the Sunshine has the most food choices. However, they also had a good time on one of the smaller ships, the Elation. Every ship has mini-golf, a pool, and endless ice cream, after all. :)
