King David or Lamanai Belize tours

Wanting to do a private tour (cruise ship one is full) looking at trip advisor. Anyone used King David Castillo's AlTourNative Belize services or Lamanai Belize Tours?

 

Also, any recommendations on getting off the boat fast?

We used King David's tour when we were in Belize. Highly recommend him! He was very responsive to our requests and allowed us to arrange a private tour based on our interests. We had a great day and he was flexible with our plans when it was cooler and overcast the day we were in port.

 

Originally we had planned on cave tubing and going to the howler monkey sanctuary but cancelled cave tubing due to temps. (Our choice, he told us we could go, but the weather wasn't great). We ended up substituting the Mayan ruins at Altan Ha. He took us to the ruins and reviewed the history of the Mayan people and significance of the ruins. He is a great guide and knowledgeable about Belize.

 

He took us to a local grocery store so we could see prices and buy some of the local hot sauce (we love going to local grocery stores) and we had some extra time at the end of the day to stop by a local open air market so we could see how the locals buy their produce. Very relaxed day! We also brought some school supplies so we stopped by a local school to drop them off and see the classrooms. A lunch at a local restaurant allowed us to try "Royal Rat" along with pork and chicken dishes and the local beer.

 

If you are at all interested in the Howler Monkeys please take time to go see this unique experience! We were surprised at how much fun it was!
