After hours car return Port Canaveral

Can you tell me about your recent experience with renting a car for one day at port canaveral and returning the car after hours?

 

Which car rental agency did you use?

 

How long did you wait for the shuttle to get to the car rental agency?

 

What was the process for returning the car after hours?

 

How did you get back to the port after returning the car?

 

Overall would you recommend renting a car over a shuttle service?

 

The Breakaway will be the only ship in port on the day we are looking at renting. Our plan is to use the car to get to Kennedy Space Center and then return the car by 7pm (after the car rental agencies close)

HI we did this a few years ago. I believe it was payless And they gave an extra discount if you mentioned CC. they do have a shuttle to the location and back to the port. I found it here on CC. If you do a search it will come up.

They were on of the ones open late as well past 5 pm. hope it helps.

I found it , its an older thread but this is what I used last time we went. Actually we used them 2x and had great experience with them. They printed out directions to the places we were going. Very customer oriented.

This was also a few years ago, but they allowed after hours drop off. We went with Hertz. Took a shuttle there but had to take a taxi back to port because it stopped running at 6pm I think. It wasn't too much money, or at least i didn't feel like I was being robbed. The guys at the rental desk gave us the number. Payless is less expensive but there were mixed reviews at the time so we stuck with the more expensive one.

 

I found all my info about rental cars at the Ports of Call board for Port Canaveral. I bet if you post this there you will get more info. Good luck!
