Cheers question

I will board the ship as soon as possible but because of work my roommate will be checking in about 3. We both will be purchasing the cheers package. Since everyone in the room must purchase the cheers package (which we are) will they allow me to purchase it when I get on or will I have to wait until he gets on later?

 

Anyone experience this firsthand? No guesses please

You have to purchase it together. But you can now order it online so maybe you can both purchase it before you board online .

On one cruise, the line was really long to buy cheers. The bar tender told us that any drinks that we purchased prior to buying cheers would be credit back. We had a couple drinks, waited for the line to go down and then purchased. Since we were still in port, we were only charged tax on the first drinks when I checked I our bill!

 

If for some reason you don't want to purchase ahead, just ask a bartender. This may still be in place!

You can order drinks until he gets on board then purchase it and they will remove the charges for the drinks you purchased. Just be careful to still stay within the guidelines or they may not deduct all of them (example, if you order 2 beers at once they won't know your intention is to purchase Cheers later so they will serve you then you will be charged for 1 of the 2.). Have purchased many times so this is firsthand experience. Last time the system was down until about 8pm so my wife and I ordered all day BUT at one point (and I know better) we each grabbed a round for both of us instead of ordering one on each card. The next day there was $80 they didn't deduct so I met w/bar manager and she adjusted b/c she could see it was always a round of a Bud and Bud Light so it wasn't like I was giving them away. But obviously best to not have to go that route.
