nodandade Posted February 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2016 we are booked to go on the carnival spirit 5.11.16 for a 7/8 day cruise out to isle of pines etc.as this will not be school holiday time will there be a lot of kids on at this time. I know it is a ship for families and kids and we certainly expect to see some, but will there be many at this time of year don't have a problem with kids as long as their parents parent them. thank you
CoopColbie Posted February 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2016 As you say, there will always be kids on cruise ships, no matter what time of year it is. This is because some parents don't want to pay premium rates for holidays during the school holidays and are okay with taking their kids out of school to avoid those mark-ups. Some school kids - those just in year 12 (17-18 year olds) - will have finished school by the beginning of November so those parents with kids in this age bracket may may be on this cruise. Also, the next age-group down - year 10-11 (15-17 year olds) - will only have a week left at school and may be pulled out early to 'avoid the school holiday rush'. But generally speaking, you will avoid the throngs of screaming kids by cruising at this time of year.
