Carolina5o Posted February 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2016 We are porting in Ocho Rios the first week of March. We are looking to have just a beach day. I've looked at the beach break excursions and haven't been impressed. The beach near the cruise port actually looks better in the photos I've seen. We just a need sand and water and maybe access to a chair and umbrella. The beach at RIU looks very nice but not sure if they or any other resorts within short taxi ride allow day guests. All ideas and comments appreciated.
mrsfuzzmo Posted February 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2016 I know the Jewel Dunn's River Resort does day passes, but it's Adults-only. Not sure who you're traveling with . It's a great resort for a day. Not too far from the cruise pier and right next to the RIU, but smaller and IMO better quality.
Rare happychippy Posted February 16, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2016 I agree with above, the Jewel Dunn was just 12 minute shuttle ride from the pier. Adults Only All Inclusive with a beautiful beach and great pool You can book online and have the transfers included. http://www.resortforaday.com/product-p/orjajd.htm
Carolina5o Posted February 17, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Thanks for the suggestion. I looked it up and decided that we will book the excursion. It's just me and my wife so the adult only element will work great for us. If the service is closed to as advertised it should make for a very pleasant experience. I'll report back and let you know how it was. Once again, Thanks!
