Spirit...How long before it will be warm?

We are considering a cruise on the NCL Spirit out of NY in January. I know it will be cold when we sail away, but when could we expect to start with the nice weather and at what point do you loose it on the way back?

The first day when you wake up it may be a little chilly........by the afternoon it should warm up..........same on the way back.

 

This could change if the South is having a cold spell.

We departed NY on thursday evening. By Friday night (New Years Eve), there was a full-blown party up on deck and no one seemed cold. It gets warm much sooner than you would expect.
