Too windy for Dream at Mahogany Bay?

We sailed on the Dream March 6-13, and we were able to successfully dock at Mahoghany Bay. The winds were listed at 20-30 mph, and the wind turbines on the hills were spinning, but the captain gave it a go and we made port. The Dream was the first of the two Carnival ships to arrive, and that may have made a difference. At any rate, I'm so glad that it worked out because the island was lovely. The snorkeling at West Bay beach was fantastic, and we also enjoyed our tour with Victor Bodden's company. A great day was had by all!

Glad you made it! And had a great cruise.

Very nice port which we are reconciled to miss very often. Wish the backup plan was something other than a day at sea but oh well still on a cruise.

Since the Captain' date=' must less the cruise lines port booking unit, has zero idea if they ship will be able to make the port or not until the ship arrives at the port and the captain talks to the port pilot on conditions, there's no other alternative than another day at sea, which for many is fine. On the occasion when there are no scheduled ships to be in Coxen Hole, the local port authority/ government, whoever, may grant permission for the Dream or othe r ships to dock in Coxen Hole. But that's a case-by-case basis.[/color']

We're leaving on the Splendor this weekend and one of our port stops is Roatan. I just checked the port calendar and we are the only ship in port for our day in Roatan. Hopefully, if it's too windy to dock in Mahogany Bay, they will let us go to Coxen Hole.
