Hi there. First time cruiser here. My girlfriend and I are going on the Oasis of the Seas with Royal Caribbean at the end of April and have a few questions about the casino.

I was wondering what denominations there are for the slots? is there a predominance of one denomination or is it pretty well spread out? (hoping not mostly $1 slots!)

I was wondering if someone could chime in on what they remember are some of the more well known slot machines? I.e. Did it have Quick Hits and Hot Shots? etc.

Is there a players club card to sign up for? if so, was it worth it if we don't cruise much?

How was your casino experience there?/luck?

Any suggestions as to when to go? Do they serve beverages there? i have a soda beverage package; can i get a free soda while gambling?

I heard about a raffle/draw during the cruise. Is there such a thing?

Thanks for your help very much.

Since you haven't had any answers as yet, I'll give you a few general ones based on my experience of ships casinos in general - we're primarily NCL cruisers as you can see.

You'll find slot machines in all denominations, just as you would in a land casino.

The slot machines aren't always the latest ones, but there's usually a fair variety.

Yes, there's a players club, and yes, you should sign up. I think RCI is linked to the MGM players club system.

Casinos on ships are notoriously tight when it comes to slot payback. Tighter than most land casinos, because there's no regulation of them.

Yes, there's almost always a "lotto" style drawing every night. Odds are just about the same as hitting the powerball on land.

Hopefully someone with specific RCI experience can tell you about the drinks system.

just off the ship 2 weeks ago. mainly 1c machines saw some 2c & 5 c also some $1 but mainly 1c. they allow smoking & have a no smoking area but really at times very intrusive.the bar accepts the soda card & they have a wait staff that will bring drinks to the machines. saw cleopatra, wolf run quick hits, hot shots, money rain, sex and the city, panda, also many machines will have 1 game on the screen but when you press game select you will discover another 8 or so different ones that can be played on same machine. there is a players club & a host on duty, place your sea pass into the slot & they will track your action.good luck

Sorry I should know this, but does the Casino accept cash? or just the SeaPass card?

I know I can always pay off my Sea Pass card any time I want, but I'd prefer using cash as I will be able to keep track of it much more easily.

From what I gather there is a Player's card there. Am I correct? Is it a separate card that I have to sign up for, or is it the Sea Pass card?

Thanks to those that reply. This is helpful information.

you can use cash at the tables - they will convert to chips & you can place cash into the slots, only a paper voucher will be redeemed when you finish playing which you can convert back to cash at a money conversion machine or the cashier.as far as I know the only card you use is the sea pass card ,that was the one i gave to the dealers & placed into the slots

When we sailed RCI as casino guests (admittedly, many years ago), we had a separate players card. I understand from recent posts that you can use either the players card or your sea pass key card, and I believe you do have to sign up separately for the players card.

Regarding Royal Caribbean's player's club (Club Royale), you have to be invited to join. Until that time, simply use your SeaPass card in the machines or present it to the table staff so they can track your play.

it takes approximately 2,000 points in slot play to be invited to join. Each point represents $5 played through the machine.

Note, however, that Club Royale is in the midst of changing their program to a tiered system like one would find at most other casinos. I would guess that the new system would be more inclusive, allowing more people to join. Information about the new program is not yet available, but may be by the time you cruise. Keep an eye on the forums for threads about it.
