Are the odds very high that I will get obstructed view. And is the obstructed view super obstructed or just kind of? And then on to the happy side, is there a chance I could get a better room? Any experience with this?

What ship are you looking at? The Spirit class ships are the only ones with what they consider to be obstructed view balconies, and with those, you're still able to see out just fine. The lifeboats block your view down, but the tops of them stop at the railing of the balcony. If you're looking at Dream class ships or Vista, the last balconies that usually get picked are the coves that are below the noisy galley/kitchen and the deck 6 balconies which are over the busy promenade & whose balconies have little privacy & a big chunk of their view obstructed by the deck 5 public lanai. So there's a good chance that the guarantees might get one of those, but plenty of people get better.

For other ships (Conquest/Triumph/Splendor classes), there aren't any lanai obstructions & no balconies below the galley, but you still have the chance of getting a deck 6 balcony right above a noisy spot on the promenade or a deck 8 balcony below the deck chairs scraping across the ground.
