Probably gone over a few times here, but I couldnt find it, what does everyone do for alarm clocks, are these provided in the cabins or do you bring your own?

TIA

Wake up calls followed by room service....

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do then by the ones you did. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

There are no alarm clocks in any rooms on any of the ships I have been on. The other thing to keep in mind, is that if you are in an inside cabin it is DARK. If you need to find your way to the bathroom etc, it is a good idea to bring a small nite light.

Bring your own if you want them, they are not provided. Don't know about the phone settings since we've never used them.

I always bring a travel clock. Like you,

Chris, I have a "thing" about knowing what time it is when I wake up. Count how many more hours I can sleep, I guess. I never set the alarm, tho.

As for nite lights, we always have a window minimum, but I sometimes leave the bathroom light on and push the door almost closed until we get used to navigating a new space. Of course on the Regal we were rocking & rolling so much, the door would just swing open by itself.

The lights from the hall seem to sneak in around the door closures, too.

As stated above the phone in all rooms can give you a wakeup call. I leave the light on in the bathroom. I also turn the above bed light on when I wake up automaticaly as I'm disabled and need my canes.

On the Princess ships we've been on & that's 10 so far, you program in the time of the wake up call.

As for the nite light, my DH & I each have mini flashlights, that we use when traveling. Keep it by our bedsides on the ship.

Thanks for all the reponses, looks like we will be bringing our own travel clock anyway. As for the light we have an outside with Balcony on the Caribe Deck.

I am the one with the inside cabin, and you are right, it is pitch black. We take a lighted alarm clock. I like to know the time, and DH likes to get to the bathroom in one piece. icon_eek.gificon_biggrin.gif

My DH's watch has an alarm feature! icon_biggrin.gif If we have to get up early to meet a shore excursion time, we back up the alarm by asking for a wake up call!

We bought a VERY compact Sony CD player / alarm clock just for cruising - not only can you tell what time it is in the middle of the night, but you can listen to your essential Jimmy Buffett collection while sipping toddies on the balcony.

"These moments we’re left with - may you always remember

These moments are shared, by few

And those harbor lights, lord they’re coming into view

We’ll bid our farewells much too soon

So drink it up, this one’s for you -

Honey, it’s been a lovely cruise."
