Becoming Platinum during cruise

My husband and I just turned Platinum. We will be sailing on June 18-26,2016. Our 2 sons are coming but will be on a different cabin. Can we take them to Priority Boarding or not? Thanks

It depends on the embarkation port. We are platinum but the kids aren't so we book one adult in each room so everyone can board platinum. The ports with separate lounges keep the keys/sail passes separately. Depending on the age of the children, they may be willing to go get the others.

Just sailed from Charleston and only one cabin was platinum. They don't have a separate lounge, just a separate line. Everyone just followed behind me and when we got to the end I let them know 2 cabins, 1 credit card since one of the passengers in the other cabin was on my credit card. There's one big area in Charleston so all the keys are easily accessible.

I have been wondering about this very question.

I have 59 points right now, and we are doing 2 8-day cruises B2B. That means that we hit 75 on the very last day of the 2nd cruise (I counted, and it is 16 separate days)

If I'm reading this thread correctly, my passes and tags should be saying priority, but both sets read Gold, and no listing of Priority anywhere. :(

So... who should I call about this? I'm not worried about boarding early, but I sure would love to have that laundry, and hubby would love the free casino entry. ;)

Thanks for any help you can give me!

We are booked on a Pride cruise at the end for March and our boarding passes say gold on them. I just booked another cruise in May but the boarding passes say red? Why the difference?

Does your May cruise give you enough days to get to 25 total days? (Without taking into account your March cruise?)

Obviously the March one does have enough days... and they know that if you get on this ship, then you will be there for those days. I can only assume that the cruise in May isn't as long, possibly?? And they won't give you credit for the March days until cruise completion as far as the May booking goes. I don't even know if that made sense?

I called Carnival this afternoon, and spoke to a very nice lady PVP. She did not know the answer, but put me on hold, and called someone more senior. That rep said that I should be Platinum on the second leg.

I read the PVP some of the postings I found here, and she thought of someone else to call. That person said that the sailings were separate, and we should be Platinum on the second leg, and the printouts should reflect that fact (but they still said Gold).

My original lady then had an inspiration - separate sailings were the key!

The sailings needed to be LINKED (whatever that means). Since I had booked with a travel agent, the PVP could not do the linking herself.

A quick voice mail and e-mail to my travel agent got the link accomplished in just a few minutes (I LOVE my travel agent).

I then logged back into my Carnival account as soon as I got the confirmation of linking from my travel agent, and Voila! Our boarding passes and tags now say priority, and we are listed as Platinum.

My thinking is... when the booking numbers are NOT linked, the system does not realize that there is a B2B sailing, and each one stands alone. Thus, when the system adds up the days, there are not enough to accomplish the crossover. When the booking numbers are linked, the system adds them up, and the crossover is accomplished.

Hope this helps someone else!
