Radisson Miami for $75!

Just got the Radisson Miami (downtown) for $75/night on Priceline for

Dec. 2. Their website lists the rooms as usually going for $175/night on that same day, so I assume I got a good deal. I used Priceline for a hotel stay in Vancouver last year in August and had good luck with that, so thought I'd give it a try again... Punched in 3 star for $75 and checked downtown location, and up popped the Radisson. Has anyone stayed there before?

We just got two rooms at this hotel as well thru Priceline..for our precruise hotel stay on the 26th of Nov. $50.00! Just called the hotel and they gave us high floor, non smoking rooms! Hope this hotel is okay. They said they have a shuttle service for $5 a person that you can pre book the night before. With four of us, I was thinking it couldn't be $20 from this hotel in a cab..to the port? anyone know?

Radisson is just north of downtown Miami, on top of a long closed shopping mall... There isn't anything to walk to from there, but it's only a 5 minute cab ride to the Port of Miami or Bayside Marketplace. And no, it won't cost $20 seedaz.

That Radisson is okay if you get a cheap Priceline "deal" but don't ever pay rack rate for it... There are much better places to stay for a similar price if you're going to pay full price.

Hi,

We just booked our pre-cruise room at the Radisson downtown in Miami.

I got the room for $50 +tax on priceline. Can we request a certain room or a bigger room through the hotel directly?

I also need ideas on a nicer place on South beach when we get back for 1 night. Any suggestions? Price range about $150 or so. We would like to stay on the beach so our kids can play. Thanks for any suggestions.

You can request anything, the worst they can do is say no, or tell you it'll be an extra charge ;)

What time of year are you going to South Beach? "Nice... On the beach... And about $150 or so" do not go together on South Beach in the winter or spring, and that's even pushing it in the dead times. South Beach is a very expensive proposition much of the year.

Also be aware that many hotels that call themselves "South Beach" are not really IN what you think of when you think of South Beach... You do NOT want to be much above the 1700 block or it's far too far to walk to anything. You also need to be very careful with South Beach hotels as most are quite old and only the nice (expensive) ones have been properly gutted and brought up to modern standards.

In South Beach always remember, the nice places aren't cheap and the cheap places aren't nice!

Well, perhaps... Try the Royal Palm, that's probably going to be the cheapest decent oceanfront hotel... One caveat though, it has been sold recently, and I haven't been in it since the new owners took over. It was a nice place before though, seems to have the best rates for oceanfront, and it's in a great location.

We're also staying at the Radison Nov. 26, again, priceline. We stayed there before and were very happy. The hotel is really nice and they have a restuarant and bar. Not much to do outside except fast food across the street. We walked about 15 blocks in the AM to a pancake house and there was a liquor store and a few other small places. Don't venture out at night. What ship are you sailing?

I'm new to priceline and need help w /my strategy- can anyone tell me exactly what they bid to get the Radisson? I need to know what * level and re-bid zones to enter- thanks so much- there's not even a cheap hotel to book directly with! I'm afraid I'm going to sleeping on the street!!

I hope to get the radisson again for march 26, 2006 for one night but i havent started bidding yet? When are you going and also was $75 your first bid or did you start lower?
