Hi - St. George area has forts:

Fort St. Catherine - the fort houses a museum dedicated to Bermudian history, particularly the military aspect. As a result of their historical significance, with fortifications spanning the full four centuries of English settlement in the New World, the forts at the East End of Bermuda, together with St. George, have been made a UNESCO World Heritage Site. St. Catherine Fort can be traced back to the year 1609. The fort was rebuilt five times, the last time at the end of the 19th Century.

The National Museum is marvelous, a terrific way to spend several hours or even a full day. It's full of amazing history and art, and the grounds are great for wandering with beautiful views in multiple directions in good weather. I spent about a half-day there during my visit, and a few times we were rushed.
