Heathrow To South Hampton

Does anyone out there have a convient way to get to Southhampton from this airport? We are not interested in renting a car, so any other possiblities would be greatly appreciated. thank you:)

Check the Britian Board here at CC, there are lots of options. Only thing is that if you do not have 4-6 people, price wise it is cheaper to use the Princess transfers. If you can get a small group together, then a private car would be your answer. They pick you up and drop you right off at the pier.

 

We arrived the day of the sailing so we used Princess transfers to the ship (much less expensive) and after the cruise we shared a ride with two other couples back to London.

By public transport, the simplest way from Heathrow to Southampton (only one "h") is by National Express coach. This will take you direct from Heathrow central bus station to Southampton bus station, from where it's a short taxi ride to any city centre hotels or to the ship.

Be aware that traffic on the road from London to Southampton is murder!!!!! To be sure you arrive on time and that the ship waits for you, I would advise using Princess' transportation. You won't save that much with a private company and you'll have to tote your own luggage.

We used the National express bus. Loved it and got a great ride through the country side for only a pound. They were having a special and we booked the rate of 1 pound which at my exchange rate was only 1.76 the day we went. It went very smoothly and I would highly recomend it
