teabear Posted September 9, 2016 #151 Share Posted September 9, 2016 You might want to review some of the previous quotes as there are already a couple of groups planning tours as follows...... Please registered with My Friend Mario http://www.bscpma.com/mfm/index.htm so they can keep track of the number of people for each tour. It's getting a bit confusing for all the back and forth emails. Thanks everyone and looking forward to meeting you all on board. Tried this link and it doesn't appear to function - sorry - all I am trying to do is sort out something to do on arrival day that will end up with my being dropped off at my hotel in Panama City at some point that day/evening - totally flexible as to what that might be

casinojoanm1 Posted September 10, 2016 #154 Share Posted September 10, 2016 We will not be staying at the Holiday Inn Express, mixup with getting my points in time to make reservation. We are staying the night of Sept. 16, in Santurce, Hotel URH Palico de Oriiol, near the port. Looks like very nice hotel, excellent reviews, reasonable price. I have a private van transfer from Bilbao airport, arriving at 12:50PM to Hotel in Santurce. The cost of the van up to 4 people is 48 euro. We can accommodate additional people. Anyone planning on staying in Santurce on the 16th and would like to share the transfer, please let me know. email casinojoanm at aol dot com Thanks, JOAN

I have arranged this quite a few times on RCCL and Celebrity, in the past, just notifying them to link the dining reservations. Please let me know if Pullmantur HO can arrange this when you contact them. Looking forward to meeting you, real soon, on the Monarch, and enjoying a GREAT cruise. I know we hope to be on as early as possible. We are staying in Santurce just a short cab ride to the ship. If anyone wants to post their cabin numbers just do it and hopefully we can compile a list before we leave on Thursday. I usually check this board once a day. I will start I want to be able to sit with other solo English speaking cruisers or English speaking couples. Pat cabin 7052 Just post your first name and cabin number I will keep a log and hopefully be onboard early enough to find out when to see the maitre de pat

dccruisin Posted September 14, 2016 Author #163 Share Posted September 14, 2016 I don’t think anyone has made a specific post for a meet and greet. How about we have our informal meet and greet at 5:30pm or 1730 on the sail away day from Bilbao (September 17th) and sail away from Lisbon (September 19th). Meet at the panorama pool bar which is on deck 11 just outside the buffet area by the pool according to the deck plans posted on VTG site ( http://www.************* DOT com/deck_plans/Monarch.cmf ) This is the bar that is toward the front of the ship, the front of the pools. Wear your mardi gras bead if you have them. We all have a drinks package!! If this time conflicts with lifeboat drill (if there is one), meet after the lifeboat drill. dccruisin Posted September 14, 2016 Author #164 Share Posted September 14, 2016 If anyone likes to play cards, especially euchre, please contact me in cabin 9552. If you do not know how to play Euchre it is easy to learn and a quick fun game with groups of 4 players. If there are 6 people we play two teams of two at time. I also like most board games. Like several others on the ship we also live in Panama. We are near the people that live in Coronado but we are up in the mountains in Altos del Maria. If there is a David that lives in Altos we would like to meet up with you while on the ship…we are also riding with Terry from the port. Hopefully we see everyone. We are in Paris now and are supposed to take a train down to Bayonne, France and buses to Bilbao tomorrow. But there is to be a train strike tomorrow, lovely. We are staying at the Hotel Begonia in the city near the old city. Linda

katct Posted September 15, 2016 #167 Share Posted September 15, 2016 hello, There have been a few posts questioning the best way to get to the port of Getxo from the airport in Bilbao. it is very easy to get a taxi at the airport. The taxi queue is right outside the door from customs (Also customs was a breeze here!) I was impressed with the high quality of the cars used as taxis-lots of mercedes and audis. i paid 50 EUROS including tip for transport to my hotel on Avenida Zugarzarte, which is less than a mile from the cruise ship dock. i had one large suitcase and it took less than half an hour. Just FYI for non-native speakers Getxo is pronounced "Get-cho" hope that all helps, kat

Rico Waverunner Posted September 15, 2016 #169 Share Posted September 15, 2016 HI, all. Time is getting close. Is anyone getting off in Aruba and flying home on Sept. 30? I would like to share transportation from the cruise terminal to the airport. My flight is at 3:45 PM, so would be flexible with pick up time. JOAN I haven't asked the cruise line if it's possible to get off the ship in Aruba and fly home that day 9/30 but I'd like to do that. Did you have much of a problem getting them to ok that? The logistics of getting to the Panama City airport at 8am on my return are becoming worriesome so I'd be ok to skip everything after Aruba honestly. Rico Waverunner Posted September 15, 2016 #173 Share Posted September 15, 2016 I had a fabulous sunny-ish day exploring San Sebastian. And I figured out the cruise terminal issue. From everything I read about the cruise terminal, it looks like taking the Bilbao metro to the Neguri station puts me within a short walk of the ship. I hope I'm right, but allowing lots of extra time just in case.
